Sparrow Game Launcher Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
Sparrow Game Launcher ("Sparrow") is made by Matt Vollet, an independent developer. In short: Sparrow doesn't collect your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and Sparrow has no server of its own. Everything you put in Sparrow stays on your device.
What we store
Sparrow stores these things, and only on your iPhone or iPad:
- Your game library: each game's name, App Store details, icon and screenshots, and any link or Shortcut you set for opening it
- Your collections, tags, favorites, play status (such as "Playing" or "Finished") and settings
- When you added each game, and a history of when you opened it from Sparrow
- A small cache of Apple's top-games charts, so suggestions load quickly
We don't store your name, email address, Apple Account, location, contacts or any ID for you or your device.
How we use it
Your library is used only to show and open your games inside Sparrow, and in its widgets, share-sheet option, Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight.
- Importing games. If you pick screenshots or a screen recording to import, Sparrow reads the game names from them on your device. The pictures aren't uploaded, and Sparrow doesn't keep them.
- Tag suggestions use Apple Intelligence on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Finding games. To find a game and show its icon and screenshots, Sparrow asks Apple's public App Store services. It sends the game name you searched for (or read from an import) and your device's region, for example "US". It also downloads Apple's public top-games charts. These requests go straight to Apple and contain nothing that identifies you. Apple handles them under its own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Opening games. The App Store banner Sparrow shows is Apple's own App Store system.
We don't sell or share data with anyone, and there are no ads, analytics or crash-reporting tools in the app. If you turn on sharing analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may send me anonymous crash reports. That setting is yours and Apple's, not Sparrow's.
Children
Sparrow is suitable for all ages. It doesn't collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Where it's stored
All of your Sparrow data stays on your device, in Sparrow's own storage plus a shared space on the device that its widgets and share-sheet option can read. If you use Siri, Shortcuts or Spotlight, iOS keeps your game and collection names in its on-device search index. If your device backs up to iCloud or a computer, your Sparrow data is part of that backup, just like any other app's.
Deleting your data
Delete Sparrow from your device and all of its data is gone, including what's in the search index. You can also remove single games or collections in the app at any time. There's no account to close and nothing kept on any server. Copies in your device backups are removed as those backups are replaced or deleted, which you control.
Changes and contact
If Sparrow starts storing something new, this policy will be updated first, and the new version will be posted here with a new date.
